Mikaeli Chamber Choir's concert in the Baroque Hall of the Historical Museum

We pay attention to one of this year's anniversaries - the English composer Gustav Holst 1874-1933 by performing his rarely heard "Choral Songs from the Rig Veda".

An avowed Orientalist, Holst learned both Greek and Sanskrit and in these songs he brings together ancient Indian wisdom with an unmistakable early 20th century English accent.
The hymns carry a peculiar tone with a scent of oriental mysticism - beautiful and soothing and with an inner force field.

In our program we also offer music by Arvo Pärt, Karin Rehnqvist, Staffan Storm and Francis Poulenc - as new and exciting, other well-known listener-friendly...
